Comments (13)I found a manufacturer called 'Kasthall' http://www.kasthall.com/en/products who make beautiful rugs of the type I was looking for but they are pricey (5k). I ended up not being able to stomach that and opted for (as suggested by Man About The House and Carolina) a Louis de Poortere carpet, which they bound/edged for me. https://www.louisdepoortere.be/miuccia.html The carpet is very thin, comfortable and high quality and it ended up being much cheaper than a rug (£1500). Thanks for the suggestions - you were spot on....See MoreWhat colour rug/s and furniture
Comments (31)I think you feel it looks too solid is because you haven’t followed through with the rest of the room, for example cushions to tie in with it. Further up these comments minnie101 has suggested some black patterned cushions which i think would lift the scheme, however if you really don’t like it then follow your heart and return it. Why keep something you don’t like? Then choose a colour-way that you prefer, such as the blue you suggested. A blue coastal theme would tie in nicely with the neutral theme you have at the moment. By the way, i got a Turkish rug from Olney Carpets in Bucks, and they let us take it home for a week to see if we liked it before buying! True service, and yes we did buy it! Of course buying online does give you that option too. I wish you lots of luck....See MoreRug feedback should it stay or go ?
Comments (15)Thank you ED , Carolina and Emily . Based on your comments , we will keep the rug for now whilst we get the rest of the furnishing for the room and review once all in . The Stockholm mirror was really nice but it’s veneer which doesn’t look at great against real wood , I will keep looking for a brass one . In regards to a coffee table . Do you think I should have side table by the sofas , we are planning to get the chair version of the blue two seater where the wicker chair is at some stage . Or should we go for a centre coffee table in front of the chesterfield ? Personally I think tables at the side seem more functional but maybe a central coffee table is more of a traditional approach If central table was thinking a glass table with brass or / black frame or a black coffee table as it so difficult to get all the woods to match . Other option would be an buttoned Ottoman maybe ? Thank you all...See MoreWhich rug and furniture to go with small open living room sofa?
Comments (1)What a gorgeous sofa, good choice. I think you could go either way. That is calm neutral shades like your first rug, or a bit spicier with the gold one. Blue and gold are always a good look. As to the coffee table, don’t panic yet. I think it would fit in better with calmer neutrals rather than the gold. The gold rug would suit a table like that morrocan brass one you have in the corner, it’s lovely. Now to throw a spanner in the works, how about a Persian style rug? It would really suit your room. It’s just a suggestion, and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love that vintage eclectic look. The red ones look amazing with blue....See More- 6 years ago
