Installing new toilet

Dear Houzzers, I wonder if I can some advice on the following subject. The plan below was kindly suggested by Johnathan.
Currently we have one toilet, underneath one of the smaller windows (the ensuite is propsed), the soil stack pipe is connected to the drain and vent on the outside wall below the windows.
Is it possible to install the toilet backing the same wall and get connected to existing drain pipe? I read somewhere these shouldn't be on the same level since flushing one can cause the water level change/movement and noise in the other one. However I am not convinced, I am sure I saw the floor plans showing the toilets on the same floor/side and thinking of the cubicles in public places...

Is it possible to install the toilet on the side wall -
We will be doing the complete re-wiring and installing new plumbing/heating so laying new pipes etc
I would really appreciate your advice and thank in advance

Your local plumber is the best source for help on this. As I understand it you can have two WCs going into the same vertical soil stack or underground drain. But two toilets sharing the same horizontal pipe have to be a certain distance apart..... I believe the distance is 1m but I can’t find the regulation so again the plumber is your next port of call.

Many thanks Jonathan. Yes I meant the new WC going into the same vertical stack. As it happens, my builder who is doing repair work on our windows, is also a plumber and helped me in the past when i had problems with our heating, popped by today to check the windows and I had a quick chat with him.

Matching granite and up stands, lovely granite. However, many have mentioned that when tying the back splash and up stands together the difference in the two pieces of granite is quite noticeable, so something to bear in mind. under the stairs or at the end of the kitchen if you can chop that around. If under the stairs is too small, it may be worth the expense of moving the stairs towards the front door, so that headroom is higher by the time the stairs reaches that understairs cupboard. Remember that the toilet itself does not need a full headlight. You need enough for a man to stand in front of the bowl, anyone sitting on the pan fits under the slope. Hope that makes sense
