Large blank space in stairway
Comments (25)A wallpaper would look great. Although I appreciate the stairway is bigger than yours, the photos attached shows how paper can change the look completely. I've attached both the before and after. If you choose a paper with a bit of a sheen, it will lighten the stairway....See Moreblank kitchen wall
Comments (10)Thank you all so much!!! I have to say i didn't think of the radiator!! and now that i notice it, it is a bit of an eye sore, thanks for that; i'll check out your link. and Wow, I had never thought of the board with the hooks! Thank you Chantelle, i should i said the island is built with leg/feet room on the right side, so i will put 4 bar stools up to it. I definitely love the idea of seating in the kitchen! The linen board looks very nice! and i could add colour to it by using some pictures as well, good idea! i like the shelving idea too, i could definitely use the space but i just dont want people to knock their heads if thats the main space for guests to stand/sit and socalize. Thank you again!!...See MoreNeed ideas for a galley kitchen and utility
Comments (2)Hello Lorna, I personally love a galley kitchen.. They're sleek, functional and I think you could create something fantastic here.. The first thing to consider here is what style you want.. It can be modern, fabulous and stylish with a period element.. and so really think of the look you like and what the house would like.. Plain English style? deVOL ? They have a period feel but are not twee or boring and can be used to create a beautiful and modern kitchen ...Something spectacular that isn't commercial and bland.. Perhaps you want bespoke carved cupboard doors. Perhaps painted or not?... Think finishes, accessories and colours... Think of the large pieces...... and how you cook... Also consider the scheme for the rest of the house as this too may point you in a specific direction to create a seamless and beautiful home.. Ideally you need someone who can help you with the whole scheme including procurement as they will work to get you the best price and should be a fabulous negotiator... So an interior designer that offers procurement can work with you to put a complete scheme together that involves the what and the where and what goes with it to design it (kitchen) as a whole. Colour and everything in between.... You may find you want help with the rest of the house too.. : ))...See MoreGalley Kitchen Design Help!
Comments (3)Our kitchen is a similar shape although slightly larger at 3m wide and 6.5m long. Your problem is similar to ours - how do you get some kind of island or plinth into the space so you can entertain guests without them leaning against a run of kitchen cabinets. Your kitchen is just too narrow for an island so you need some kind of peninsular. We have almost finalised the design of our kitchen and we have decided to have a run of units along one wall that includes a double tower for two ovens at one end, matched by a large American fridge at the other end. On the opposite wall we are building a double drawer unit that is 2400mm long x 900mm deep that includes an overhang at each end for stools. This gives us the storage we need and allows us to put guests into a seat so they don't get in the way when we're cooking. Couple of renders attached - they are not quite right but hopefully give you an idea of what we have planned. Another idea that might work is to build one big island in the centre of the room that accommodates your hob, oven, w/m, d/w, fridge etc - you won't be left with a lot of cupboard space but you'd have a very large sexy looking island - say 3m long x 1.2m wide (which would fit 10 x 60cm wide units or appliances)...See MoreZette A Hutchins
