Painting a 1930s mock tudor, ideas needed.
Comments (18)Nice brickwork. I would suggest learn to love mock tudor. Find out when the house was built and be classical for the time, using appropriate colours. Anything else that modernises it will look out of place and take away the character. It will also depreciate the house, as updating such a distinct style never really works. Try changing the porch and the windows for something in the period. They are at odds with the look of the house. Something darker would work better....See MoreExterior ideas please?
Comments (3)Hi there, Tamp75 is right, it could require Planning Permission to overhaul the exterior of the property, it may still require permission to alter the roof tile type, here is a link to the Planning Portal which will outline your 'Permitted Development Rights'. You can generally undertake maintenance works without the need for permission, but some works may still require Building Control Permission. For the design, set a budget and then take it from there, you could find simple but effective alterations to the existing front timber finish could really make you fall in love with the property again! Try getting some visuals prepared for the front timber to be rotated 90 degrees in a lighter timber finish, this could help make the property look a bit more modern, especially alongside new roof tiles! We would love to see the finished product once you have made your decision, exciting times!...See MoreExterior ideas please

Comments (7)Change the upstairs windows to match the downstairs bay because lots of fanlights are more in keeping. Then paint the woodwork and the pebbledash on the front gable- I would choose black and white. Then clad the garage so it looks like a more substantial building next to the handsome house. Then replace the tarmac path with something nicer such as brick pavers. Lovely house now but it could be even better....See MoreE D
