Thoughts on plantation shutters?
Comments (77)We love our shutters! We live on a busy street and the shutters give us the privacy we need, and also smarter up our windows. We have wanted shutters for ages, and received a few quotes which were all so different, but too expensive for us. A couple of months ago we came across a company www.shuttershack.co.uk they are the sister company of a already established company. Anyway we ordered ours as DIY shutters which saved us literally ££'s. We have fitted ourselves. But they do offer a fitting service, which still seems a lot cheaper than other companies. Happy days....See MoreOur horrible back garden
Comments (8)Hi Rhona It would make a difference painting all the fencing with same colour e.g. sage green or possibly grey-green? Definitely needs some plants/greenery and flower power colour. Worthwhile keeping some of the patio for outside seating. Fit a 2nd ground spike for clothes pole tucked somewhere out of sight. My Edinburgh patio-/fence area was a bit harsh and bare, you can see how I change it to bring in colour winter and summer per links below. Tesco had bargain bay trees on offer for £15 each recently. Good luck! I recommend the grows on you site for garden inspiration. http://www.growsonyou.com/photo/slideshow/244759-full-view-of-new-sitooterie/member/sarahm http://www.growsonyou.com/photo/slideshow/270615-sitooterie-and-water-feature/member/sarahm http://www.growsonyou.com/photo/slideshow/274490-lights-camera-action/member/sarahm http://www.growsonyou.com/photo/slideshow/278574-flowers-in-the-sitooterie/member/sarahm http://www.growsonyou.com/photo/slideshow/283170-bay-trees-wrapped-for-winter/member/sarahm...See MoreHELP! Comments (29)Hi, I too love the colour railings, however, i'm ging to disagree with everyone as usual. I've done a mock up of the T.V mounted on the fireplace, but you'd have to build up the sides just to make the size of the T.V make sense. ( Why oh why do men want big T'V's????) I didn't like it. I would highly suggest that the T.V either sits on the other wall opposite the couch, or and i prefer this to anything else. Have a beautiful corner cabinet which then turns the T.V slightly towards the couch and encompasses both storage and all horrible wiring !...See MoreFull Height Shutters for Dining Room in Rothwell
Comments (0)We recently helped transform a home in Rothwell, a market town to the South East of Leeds. The customers wanted to achieve a more contemporary look in their home, and thought that shutters would complement their existing décor nicely. In the dining room, the customers wanted the clean lines that shutters provided, helping create a much less cluttered look in the space. For the kitchen, shutters were a much more practical choice, being much easier to clean than curtains or fabric blinds. For consistency, and to help the couple achieve the “clean lines” look, we decided on using Full Height for both the windows and patio doors. As it proved to be more cost effective for their needs, the couple selected the MDF Antigua material. Silk White was chosen as the colour due to personal preference, and 76mm louvres were desired for the panels, in order to make the most of the light through the windows. Following the couple’s brief of a less-cluttered look, we helped them select the silent tilt rod option, to maintain functionality and louvre control without the addition of a visible tilt rod....See Moresloyder
