We're all for a bit of hard work, and would definitely paint the cupboards. You are right not to use F&B, it's an inferior paint compared to dulux, and not correct for your purposes, being Eggshell finish. Dulux Trade Satinwood is far better, gives a better finish and is hardwearing. ( It's also more expensive than F&B i'm afraid, but you get what you pay for ). I'd paint the cupboards in a pale grey and replace the knobs. Give the area behind the bed a good dark grey finish, to help with making your choice of headboard really stand out. Hi there, Are your windows uPVC? If so, PerfectFit blinds would be ideal. They clip into the beading and become an integral part of the window itself so you don't need to mount to the lintel or wall. And you could also have these in a blackout fabric. Alternatively, you may be able to have something like Pleated blinds on tension rods even if your window is wooden - and these are also available with the blackout fabric you need for the bedrooms. Hi we have moved kitchen to back of house and laid UFH albeit on concrete base. Floor needs to go down first, blank panels under where the floor units and any island units will be, then a thin screed on top before laying something like Amtico or other lvt. We laid parquet flooring and had to follow the same procedure. To save money and time laying the parquet under the units as we did it all ourselves we put large pieces of osb on top of the screeded blank panels (where the floor units were going) so that there was a flat surface for the units to be fitted. You wouldn't have much depth on LVT so could use marine ply perhaps which is a lot cheaper than Amtico under your units.
