Comments (6)Something on the top to fill in the height - wicker storage boxes side by side or a hat box - then a large tassel or something hanging from one of the door knobs to elongate the door. Colour of them is great for your room - sense you are not impressed! But they will grow on you once the gap is filled...... Oh no, sorry, I didn't mean grow in height.... Please do not think I am being flippant though!!...See MoreHelp decide on colour for laminate fitted wardrobes
Comments (3)Hello Karina, I see what you mean. It depends on the feel you want for your bedroom. Do you want a pop of colour ? By the picture in the room it looks like you do not mind this. If yes you can cover them with wallpaper. Get an Acrylic/ perspex mirror. Or attach coloured perspex. Or just completely change the doors to a colour. Using colours from your picture, headboard or ottoman. Pastel colours for calm, brights for a wow or for exotic look golds, metallics, which will go with your other picture. If you have space move the ottoman to the foot of the bed and then make that recess area into a snug seating area with a comfy chair small table to put a drink on and a plant which will change the look and could guide you more. Mmm! The more I look at it could be that area just needs to be covered so that same doors that will give it an more complete cohesive look. Then paint it a gloss, rather than a matt. Laminate painting can be a mare so you could check out your local garage that spray paints cars and they could spray paint the doors evenly. Or buy a spray gun and do it yourself. Then it would like a more of a built in. I think more personal objects will guide you too. If we can see the other blue gold picture it will give us more of an Idea to work on. Blue gold yellow and teal sound exotic, so a feature wall in those exotic colours will take your eye away from the built ins. Or maybe then put the same wall paper with the comfy chair in the recess.... Have fun....See Morehelp on updating wardrobe doors
Comments (2)Your doors are almost shaker, it’s just the bow at the top that’s a little different. How do you feel about getting them painted in a more modern colour? It will make a huge difference. You can then change the knobs for brass or whatever finish you like to update them. I think the first picture is lovely....See MoreBedroom wardrobe beading help needed please. Thank you so much!
Comments (16)Hi Maria That's a shame, I've worked with fitters in the past that put far too many fixings in which is great when it comes to it being structurally sound but I always feel bad for the people that have to remove it in years to come! In my opinion, if the 3mm is secured on with 'no more nails' and pins then I can't see how it would lose its rigidity. I would put a line of no nails along the surface of each groove (not inside the groove but the top part) then push the cladding onto it until it won't go any further (maybe even use a rubber mallet), then just some small veneer pins up up the edges and in the middle - Make sure the pin heads are buried slightly so you can fill the holes afterwards. The other advantage of 3mm is you can hide the edge of it much easier as you can just sand a bevel onto the edge which hides the joint. You wouldn't need MR MDF here either with it being in a bedroom, once it is painted it is sealed. I have done a similar thing in my bedroom where I clad an existing unit in 6mm MDF (not moisture resistant) and it has stayed in the same condition 6 years later....See More- 6 years ago
