Garage floor resurfacing

Working on fixing up the up the garage. It's a new build with concrete floor. The concrete is not smooth but still level. I'm thinking of making a smooth surface. My question is would using something like Resincoat self levelling compound be a good idea? Is it easy to work with or would I regret not getting someone to do it? Picture in comments.

We’ve used self level in the past and it’s worked a treat. Did it in a showroom where the floor was exactly the same as yours. Then painted it grey. Lasted ages.

We went with PVC garage floor tiles for ours. I have not regretted it at all, they hold up amazing. With our 2 cars, bikes, and rowdy kids, it´s been great. We got FlexiTiles from a shop called Bricoflor.

Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone has converted their garage into a bedroom and included a mezzanine sleeping area to make more use of the ground floor space? We currently have a flat roof but wondering if I can change this to a pitched / sloping roof to create more height for the sleeping space. Have included a picture, just to note we aren't linked to next door, difficult to tell by the picture but we are semi detatched. Huge thanks

Yeah I see your point. The door is into the garage is from the kitchen. It could be moved higher to go directly into the utility but we’d need to reconfigure the whole kitchen then compared to just adding a door on a bit of wall which isn’t used at the moment. Yes the waste pipe actually from the upstairs bathroom is next to the garden door so very close. Again, the loo and sink could be positioned on that adjoining wall to be closer to the waste but it would mean swapping the door and window around too so more building work expense. With regards to the locking and distance - yep totally agree. Both sets of our parents have a combined loo with utility and that works well, but they’re internal. I like being able to quickly get to the loo from the garden personally. There’s nowhere else for it to go really. The under stairs isn’t a useable space unless more building work was to occur and we’d lose a back door and it’s far from the waste pipe in that position.
