My garden is mostly a car park and I need inspiration!
Comments (10)Depending on how much of the car park you'd like to remove, my first thought would be to investigate the cost effectiveness of knocking out some of the back wall of the garage to allow the work to be carried out. You could then either make good again afterwards or maybe put in another set of garage doors, or just a regular door. The door option might also make it easier, once the work has finished, to bring things like lawn mowers/rubbish bins through to the back garden rather than down the narrow 36" gap. I also think it likely (as this was a business) that the car park could have quite a thick layer of tarmac, plus hardcore, which could mean the soil underneath is not in great condition....See MoreNeed help with design ideas for a sloping back garden
Comments (2)Hello there, Have you considered creating terraces? I did a design for a sloping back garden some time ago... please feel free to take a look at my website here. That project was inspired by the surrounding hills. In your case, depending on the style of your house and the location, perhaps a series of terraces might work well. These terraces could be either flat or slightly tilted so to reduce the height of the step between them... If you like curves, the terraces could be a series of circles for example... hope this helps!...See MoreNeed Help with back garden design
Comments (7)I would get rid of the lawn and replace it with decking and lots of borders: look at this site, a similar but larger garden to see the reason why that can work: http://www.lucywillcoxgardendesign.com/Projects/Pages/Highgate_-_Love_Your_Garden.html I would add a shed/summer house combo to maximise outdoor space or at least one with a porch (sometimes sold as lumber/timber drying areas) as that can double up space for kids toys and storage....See MoreGarden Designer for Japanese Inspired back garden
Comments (8)These guys are in Kent and it looks as if they work all over the country although it looks like a design and build service rather than just design https://www.buildajapanesegarden.com/portfolio/ There is also this guy, the website is Spanish but it looks as if he's still London based https://www.houzz.co.uk/pro/webuser-260984/the-japanese-garden Or as Sonia said just look at local designers. I'm sure like interior designers they can adapt to any style??...See MoreCarolina
