Comments (8)Hi quick sketch attached which hopefully will get you thinking on non standard options to avail of the triple aspect and views. The bed is centred on the West facing window, so even though there isn't symmetry in the rest of the room, balance is created, focused on the bed. I've shown a freestanding headboard behind the bed - something along these lines....there are design options available which means no need for a bedside locker to the side. I've stolen a small amount of space from the adjacent bedroom (sorry kids!) & pushed the entrance door back into the hall slightly. There is no door to ensuite, but the curved wall which becomes part of the shower creates an entrance & cuts of what you don't want to see (the wc) but allows light in, views out to and from the North. This curve also creates a natural line to change floor covering - say from carpet to tile. Theres approx 5m of wardrobe tucked under the eaves with curved ends (if budget will allow!) and also His & Hers drawer sets either side of entrance door....See Moremaster bedroom and en-suite over garage
Comments (17)Basic design packages don’t allow you to draw in sloped ceilings. So I think you need to enlist a designer or concept planner who can create the room in CAD and help you visualise the space including the ceilings. Try a search on Houzz for professionals. First of all it is worth thinking about what you need to store, whether you need room for two at a time getting changed or using the sink and more lifestyle thoughts. In preparation you can take more notice of your daily routines. Then I would recommend taking note the natural light, sounds coming from outside and views as well as the other measurements. Thirdly the property may have some heritage and styles such as small details or the style of the facade which can inform the selection of inspiration. Comments (4)Hi Emily, here are some pictures This is the corridor, we have tried to show the step back between the two walls, there is 877mm behind the mirrored doors. This is the end of the bedroom we proposed moving the bathroom to This end is where we thought the dressing area could go, blocking the first door from the corridor. We have taken down the stud wall that used to divide the room. En-suite which we proposed combining with corridor to make bedroom with door from landing at far end of en-suite. Thanks for all your replies - I really appreciate it. We do currently need all four bedrooms as we have 3 children. Whether it is our forever home really depends on how much we can expand. It is a semi detached 1930s property. The current owners have already extended to the side to create a fourth bedroom downstairs and have extended to the rear for a bigger kitchen. We are hoping to eventually extend on top of the current side extension - I'm guessing if we did that we could make bedroom four bigger and build in to it to create the en-suite?
