Comments (24)A Life More Beautiful - I appreciate the advice for moving the rod. I'll give that a try. It shouldn't be much of an issue for the drapes as they are very close to floor length but are covered up by the bed and the rocker anyway. :). So there should be a gap between the rod & the top of the shades then? I think my husband assumed it should sit right on top. I've actually never heard of a pelmet. I'm off to check google! I thought the fairy lights were rather cute & the girls love them. Only a few dollars at ikea too. :)...See MoreHave you tried a thermo-regulating duvet?
Comments (6)Yes. We recently bought a super king sized bed so needed a new duvet. I bought one that is supposed to adjust to your body temp. Yeah, right!! After a week we could stand it no more and went and bought a twenty quid 4.5 tog. It was far too warm and this was still only March. Maybe I'll dust it off and try again in the middle of winter!...See MoreBedroom Ideas
Comments (3)Hi Jan, I'm no expert but happen to be planning a turquoise colour scheme for my bedroom and have a few ideas to share. The easiest solution might be to just paint the bedside lockers a light turquoise or even a deep teal. Ikea has the light turquoise version of your bedside lockers for inspiration: Get rid of the wall lamps as you said, and ditch the office blinds & the light blue curtains. Maybe some deep teal curtains with a fine white mesh net curtain or some white venetian blinds behind the teal curtains? Keep the lamps, bedspread & blue & white pillows. The painting is a bit bland but might look better without the black corner brackets. Here is a room on Pinterest that looks similar: Best of luck!...See MoreCreative DIY Ideas??
Comments (13)Ah, if it's tongue and groove then just painting it would be the cheapest option but please get rid of the wallpaper:) I still like the idea of using fabric. How about a faux leather for a gentlemans club look. http://www.textileexpressfabrics.co.uk/epages/BT3246.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3246/Products/"C5577 Oddies Flame Retardant Faux Leather Brown" Using the upholstery strip studs will make it look smart. Also dark colour paint above the shelf would look good with this theme, I'm thinking a deep charcoal or dark green. For bedding, if he likes colour, how about this which would tie in with the curtains: http://direct.asda.com/george/home-garden/bedding/duvet-covers/brushed-cotton-check-duvet-cover/GEM572495,default,pd.html Or this: http://www.dunelm.com/product/letterpress-check-duvet-cover-and-pillowcase-set-1000090369 I'm guessing he's not into floral:))...See MoreSonia
