Paint color for kitchen

In the spirit of going bold, I wanted to paint the walls of my kitchen with the color that would go with tiled backsplash I have chosen. Everyone keeps telling me to keep it white and I wanted to try with the idea that if it makes me nauseous, I can repaint to white.
The photos below show the space and the potential colors.

Comments (6)Thanks everyone for the replies so far! OnePlan - I’ve been having a play around with the dulux app which is pretty good. Will see what else is available. Maths wife - really like the look of Cromarty, hadn’t considered it. It might be a good choice as it’s a bit lighter than french gray. Colourhappy - in terms of light, it’s a basement conversion so it’s not the brightest, but it never gets too dark during the daytime. We get some natural light from above at both sides through the windows. Is it best to avoid darker colours? The current colour on the top photo with the stairs is iced mocha which does look nice on the photo but we’ve had it since we moved in and it’s time for a change! It’s a brown shade so thinking maybe a grey or green this time. Alison - your photo looks great. It’s a nice colour and you’re right, it could work well with the woodwork. Not sure it’s for me though... Another question - am I best keeping the ceiling some shade of white?
