Need some ideas for this floor plan please!
Comments (28)So we have! Do you think there's room for fitted wardrobes either side of the fireplace in the bedroom? The compromise on both plans are the bedroom size but I personally would prefer a larger living area. What if you extend the kitchen to the window wall and have the sink unit up against the firewall? I'd just try adding a table and sofa to see how it all looks. Your idea would obviously be the cheaper option too. If you want the open plan area to feel bigger stick to the same flooring or colour flooring throughout btw (I appreciate the plan is just indicative at the mo). I wonder if it would also be possible to try and work round the chimney breast for the bathroom so as to cut down plumbing costs. It may have to be a shower in that top leg corner though...See Morefloor plan idea please
Comments (2)I think you need to draw this to scale properly ( or ask someone to ) so that people can help - at the moment it's a bit confusing. Also there are different regulations about opening up walls to staircases for different types of homes... so need more info on type of home /how many floors /multi home building or single home building ... etc etc If you have any specific items of furniture to keep in people would need to know that too.. ie 2.6mx1.8m L shape corner sofa left hand part the short bit . 2.1m x.9m dining table etc etc . The kitchen cuts the room in half at the moment - perhaps having a table in the middle with kitchen arranged in various zones around the perimeter may work ? But without knowing the true sizes involved it's very difficult to say !...See MoreIdeas for bungalow floor plan please

Comments (6)This wall is the original outside wall of the building and it can be removed but will require steels to hold up the wall above it. Everything is possible but this is the second time you have posted the same dilemma in a month suggesting you need help beyond this forum. Firstly consider your available budget- this house will likely require £50k worth of upgrades like kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, decorating, window treatments, lighting etc etc. So to consider building work such as raising the dormer at the side, knocking down walls and reconfiguring the interior you will need tens of thousands more (this is mentioned as I don’t believe you have stated your budget). My next step would be to an architect with a structural engineer friend- you need to be realistic about what you can and can’t alter within your budget. The architect will help you realise what you need the house to do, what planners are likely to say and give you sound advice about layout including help to realise how big the front bedroom would be if you squeeze an ensuite into it, the implications of moving the living room wall to make the hallway bigger, and the feasibility of adding an additional wc near where your workspace for visitors....See More- 5 years ago
