Just a quick mock-up of what seems the most obvious design to me based on what you're after. I'd use some of what is now the kitchen to create a combined utility and toilet - you could install a laundry tower and base cabinets along one wall and keep both windows (as drawn), or you brick up one of the windows and install floor to ceiling cabinets next to the washer/dryer to create additional space for coat/shoe storage (as the under-stairs cupboard in the hall might not be enough). Then combine current dining room, laundry and outdoor WC into one big kitchen/diner, keeping the fireplace and external walls but adding another set of double patio/sliding doors.

Thank you for taking the time to do this, it‘s great. We did briefly look into adding the back right corner to straighten off the back of the house but the quote was a such a lot of money for the small amount of space gained. Though it does make the layout so much easier. Have you got any ideas if we weren't to square off tbe back off the house? many thanks

@lloydy12177 I had a feeling that corner might be a tricky one...however, would you be able to make the current outdoor WC part of your kitchen diner? It doesn't add a huge amount of space but would allow for a second set of patio doors and would make the space feel more open/add light. I have made another draft assuming you can do the above. The Kitchen area does become smaller this way and offers less worktop space but is still manageable depending on your needs. My advice would be- if you are passionate cooks/bakers, love to host guests and plan to stay in this house for longer, I'd get a few more quotes in for straightening off the back of the house and try to find the budget to maximise the space that way. Only compromise here if you are not that fussed and just want a functional kitchen. It would be a shame if you create a kitchen that doesn't meet your everyday needs and then end up removing that back right corner down the line, you'll have saved some money in the short-term but spend a lot more if you convert the space twice.

@lloydy12177 PS please note I wasn't able to read the floor dimensions in your uploads, so may be envisioning the space larger than it is. Average worktop depth is 600mm, so see if the suggested U shape would fit comfortably. Or feel free to message me the floor plan in higher res and I'll take a closer look.

An alternative could be to make your front room a kitchen diner and open up at the back a bit more for the lounge. Sometimes utility rooms work better in basements or other places, depending on how you want to use it.
