Hi Lizzie, it’s really hard to see on the plan as some things were made by the builders. The large cupboard next to the fridge houses a washer dryer but they just put doors on the ‘hole’. We had normal height cupboards with half height on top plus skirting board to take it all to the ceiling so as to avoid dust traps. But extra high on the sink side so the tap would fit. Under the breakfast bar is a wine fridge and two wall shelf units - one had the back taken off so as to make it full depth for all our other booze bottles! Everything is from Wren. I can send you measurements if it helps but the plans are a mess as they have random bits stuck in places as our builders did lots of fiddling! Very happy to talk you through each unit if it helps. Amazing extendable table from danetti (the cheapest one they sold!)

I’m not sure you’ve got the right size space for an island. I’d go for a peninsula/breakfast bar with matching stools and lights to those in your dining space. 4 Tall units along the side wall in the same colour as the wall behind/above them so they ‘disappear’. Sink & hob at A and B (I have my hob in front of my window, just personal preference, excellent ventilation and I enjoy the view). I’d then get a sofa for the opposite side wall in front of the back doors.

Sorry, the measurements would have helped! The area is 6850 wide x 6068 long, we are planning on having the kitchen here as per the attached picture. The wall in yellow is currently blocking off another room so taking out that wall has been debated but we would have a longer room which we would still struggle to fit in the furniture we would like. Our dream is to have a nice big L shaped sofa but we are struggling to work out how we could do this

Realistically its going to be very tight. I think you could fit a kitchen diner but not a snug in addition. If it was me I would not close off the lounge unless it was with glass or pocket doors which would have the option to stay open most of the time. How large a kitchen would you require as you have an equal sized utility room? If you removed the wall you would have a lot more space for kitchen storage along the top wall. There are many clever ways to sneak in more storage. Are you thinking of an island between the kitchen/dining area? It really depends on your budget. If it allows you might prefer to have the kitchen in the dining room for a better connection with the garden.
