Hi
Having top of half house Siberian larch cladding( cost effective compared to cedar) finished with Osmo clear oil to front and side of house. Also having other half k-rendered but stuck what colour? White, Polar White,Chalk white I'm thinking thoughts? Windows & doors Anthracite Grey for reference.

Can you share a picture? Very difficult to advise on colour without actually seeing what it needs to go with.

Most people tend to opt for a shade of white but I find white rather stark and clinical. perhaps more of a pale magnolia shade?

Hello Edwin, What about having a lovely warm chalky white or cream finish for the exterior and pillars, with stone tiles for the flooring? Looks like the house is going to be really nice! What are you using for the flooring inside? Marble or stone would suit as it looks like a hot climate... Keeping the exterior minimal and tasteful you could then have some really amazing foliage... Huge palms or banana, fig.. An iron and glass front door... For the first floor how about a low plain plastered wall to create a balcony or ironwork that would accent the front door but not as elaborate a design.. More large palms.... For the interior I just added a few things for inspiration.... In the main entrance hall a lovely chandelier... : ))

I too would ditch the vertical blinds. Our last house had horizontal wooden cladding that had been replaced with red roof type tiles, overlapping vertically roof style. It was done before we bought the house but looked so much better than the other houses in the street. And didn't need any further upkeep. Having ditched the blinds I'd plant something spectacular in the front garden to soften the view from the road and to give a bit more privacy. Maybe a Japanese maple, which is stunning in the autumn? Agree with Lauren on this. Architecturally this property is crying out for regeneration/a face lift. You could easily enhance the facade treatment and no doubt daylight filtration into the interior spaces through introducing a range of materials/cladding/new openings. Perhaps it is worth looking at some conceptual design options initially and then opening up discussions with your local planning department. If you do not risk over capitalising then you could consider increasing the SQFT through extending upwards or inserting dormers! This may help you improve the internal accommodation. Hard to say without fully understanding the existing set up. I have worked on over 600 developments over the past 9 years and can certainly visualise a great end product here.
