Karndean Flooring - is it warm?

Hello thinking of replacing flooring in my kitchen and back room with Karndean flooring. I was just wondering how warm/cold people find it? We are considering u/f heating but it will increase the cost dramatically so was wondering if we could get away without it - thx

Not cold at all. We’ve got Karndean in the kitchen, family room and hall without UFH but we do have traditional radiators. So easy to live with - we love it.

Great, can walk barefoot on it no bother. Not like tiles which are cold. We've no underfloor heating and are in Scotland and find it warm

I personally wouldn't go for the solis tile in bedrooms as visually I think it could look a little cold but great for kitchen/dining. Did you have any particular wood effect in mind? Darker flooring with lighter walls can actually make a room look bigger but not easy to keep clean. I would probably try a mid oak if that is a worry.

We laid Karndean flooring in our hall and sitting room 17 years ago. We used wood effects from the Da Vinci range. Originally, our long, narrow hall floor was part wood, part concrete, part terrazzo tile so we needed something suitable for laying over all these base materials and Karndean fitted the bill. It still looks perfect in both areas and I would not hesitate to use it again. Here are photos, one from each end of the hall.

We use a soft brush to clean up the dust and etc that collects on the Kardean. I then use a microfibre cloth to clean the floor sprayed with dilited liquid soap mixed with water. I also spray a little polish onto the cloth for a final clean and that gets rid of any marks. That is all mine gets.

Don't paint it. If you don't like it see if it has a salvage value and have it taken up. If you do like it but there is damage you can just replace strips or there are products to help restore this kind of product
