How do I make my Chimney breast look better?!
Comments (7)I don't know if you've done this already but make sure the mortar is an appropriate colour for the period. I made this mistake and was told the modern grey would fade but it hasn't....See MoreHelp! Chimney breast dilemma
Comments (3)Hi, Agree with Carolina, also you could put cupboard doors on the front which open up to reveal the bedside units and shelves - may be easier from a tidyness point of view (if you're anything like me!). Here's some ideas for you... This one shows the kind-of effect I was meaning with the wardrobe door. Hope this helps!...See MoreI’ve just painted our chimney breast .
Comments (10)I think it’s a nice colour, albeit very close your carpet’s colour. I agree, your chimney could benefit from a different mirror. Also, from what I can see, your furniture and other items all seem to be pushed back onto walls and into corners. To me it would look nicer if you can bring some of it in inwards. And maybe group your nicknacks (is that the word?) In threes rather than have them spread out. Or maybe just bring them a bit closer in....See MoreShould we keep our front room chimney breast in place?
Comments (7)Sounds like you've made huge steps to create a modern open feel which you love. Why stop now just for the sake of a future buyer? If future buyer wants traditional features then it already sounds like you're wouldn't be the right house for them. Unless you're planning to sell in the next 2 years I wouldn't be thinking king about anyone else, it's your home. But having said that each room ca have it's own feel so if it suits to keep it I wouldn't worry that it doesn't 'fit in' with rest of house. Basically, I'm saying be confident to do whatever you want to do! Lol....See MoreMr Grandanat
