Hi We provide LED lamps in 2700K (very warm - yellow) , 3000K (warm white - yellow), 4000K (cool white - white will a hint of yellow), 5000K (soft daylight - very white), 6000K (daylight - more harsh white with hint of blue). Between different makes of LEDs - there will be variations too. What we have seen is that this is very much on personal preference and also how the light interacts with the colour of the units in your room. You should try some options if possible and see what you prefer. If you want to warm your room up go for warm white. If you want to have a sharper look go for cool whiite 4000K (we are seeing this is getting more popular), if you want seriously white then go for daylight (5-6000K). One thing we recommend against is using all in one LED fixture like the H2, because the LED market is moving fast, In 4 years time, if one fixture fails and this unit is not made anymore, it may be replaced with a non-matching fixture. With a LED GU10, you can just change the bulb without having to replace the fixture. Out Professional 7W DGP4 lamp has interchangeable lens (60 degree standard and 38 degrees optional) and really bright. Additionally, you should also check the under cabinet lighting. Hi Helen This looks like a nice open plan space. Although the advice above is great, I too share your feelings on grids of downlights and think they can be obtrusive to the eye. Good lighting design includes allowing for darker spaces, so that you an accentuate the lit areas - zoning the areas with light is the best way to achieve this. If you want to make a real feature of the pendant above the dining table, maybe consider using trimless downlights above the kitchen island with, say, a medium beam of 36 degrees and then adding in downlights specifically to light the tall kitchen units (assuming that’s what you have). Please see the first image below as an example. By introducing up-down wall lights either side of the television and then adding downlights to light any art or pictures you have, as well as 5amp sockets for table and floor lamps, you can create different layers of lighting. This achieves a balanced and inviting environment. If the patio doors do not stretch right up to the ceiling, you could introduce a coffered ceiling and insert linear LEDs for indirect background lighting. This will also utilise one of the boxed in beams as that would be the height you could drop the edge of the ceiling. The second image below is an example of a coffered ceiling for reference. If you have a lighting control system this would give you all you need to create the lighting environment you have always dreamed of. Most of those work together as the brass element is repeated. What flooring are you having in the kitchen (which looks great) as that could really add warmth? Ignore the first pic as that is £xxxxx but I thought the trumpet could be fun for the piano room although DH may hate it! The brass doesn’t match on this particular wall light but something like this would go and should be easy to find. I love the pearl drop light so thought I’d show it to you in case you like it. I really like the pendant in your first pic so have shown this one too, it’s reminiscent of 1930s Parisian jazz clubs. I assume the eichholtz one is actually chrome (as most tend to be!), do you want a similar brass version?

Hello !! Here are some lighting ideas for your kitchen: Spotlights are ideal for task lighting, as you can direct the beams where you need them, including into surfaces to highlight textures. A line of pedants over an island or table is also an attractive option. Low-level lighting under units makes them appear to float, while lighting above them creates a soft glow on the wall and ceiling.
