What colour should I paint my sideboard?

So I've just painted my living room this creamy neutral colour which I love but I feel like the grey sideboard and mirror I have no longer goes with this. I was thinking of painting them to avoid waste, but not sure what colour to do. We have navy chairs and sofa but feel like navy would be too bold to do the sideboard too
Thoughts ?

Hi Rachel,

I would be tempted to paint it a softer grey like farrow & ball Ammonite or even Farrow & ball Cornforth. With a softer grey you will find the sideboard will not feel as strong in the room, allowing you for the navy chairs & sofa's to take center stage in the room.

What a great decision to have to make, I wish I lived on a colourful street. Lucky you. I like either the salmon pink of the first photo or the palest pink of the second photo. I’d stick to white for the door. Keep us updated with what you decide, I don’t think you can go wrong with most colours but I wouldn’t want to be the boring one in the row

I think you could go much bolder. That beautiful fireplace is bold! I’m mad about green and recently used Farrow & Ball Cromarty in my sitting room, but I think you could go even bolder with Mizzle or even Pigeon? I would paint the panels the same colour as the wall and keep the colour below the picture rail, above it white or at least a pale shade, but there are no hard and fast rules. To be honest any bold F&B paint would look good - despite the name Dead Salmon is a beautiful soft pink that would look great. The last pic is mine in Cromarty. You have such a lovely room!

This look would be rather timeless and easy to re-use when wanting to change styles and colour schemes. Keeping a rather neutral palette, which is what you've gone for is a good idea for the kitchen as to not age so quickly. With the use of colourful accessories and well chosen lighting I think this space could look fab. If you hadn't already chosen your units and had them fitted, I'd have recommended a slightly darker shade to provide some contrast, and a slightly lighter island colour. However, I wouldn't recommend darker walls, purely as your space although being a good size and having some natural light.
