Kitchen design help

Hello,
Myself and my boyfriend have recently bought our first home and are looking at renovating the kitchen. Pictures of the kitchen design we are thinking of are attached. However, it isn't the biggest kitchen. I'm worried that the breakfast bar surface on the opposite wall to all the main units will make it feel quite narrow when we are both trying to use the kitchen. What do you think? Our main reason for the bfast bar was additional work surface space, but maybe there is enough already. I know everyone's opinion is different but would be interested to know what others think-keep the bfast bar or take it out? Thank you

It’s only a narrow breakfast bar by the look of it and bearing in mind you don’t have a lot of worktop space l’d keep it otherwise you will have wasted space.

If you’re planning to use the breakfast bar to eat at & include seating too, I think it would possibly be in the way. If you can get shallow cupboards underneath it, I think it would be more useful as I’d be concerned about lack of storage more than lack of worktop space.
The other alternative is a small moveable butchers trolley or moveable mini island unit.

Hi Ben, I like the 2nd last design, the one without the cupboard opposite the boiler. Having a wall unit there breaks the sight line and makes it feel cluttered. I would use the shelves for glasses and cups. I have wood worktops from worktop express. Great quality, just a little wear 3 years on. We opted for an oil finish and need to do the 1st re-oil soon. We have a dishwasher so minimal dishes done but the sink is siliconed under it's rim. Water doesn't seem to be an issue yet.

What’s the cupboard that juts into the room? I’m useless at planning but wondering what’s on your wish list as you have a gab hob vs induction, an under counter oven versus built-in, a built in microwave in one, a drainer in one etc. Does the kitchen also need to include laundry? Do both waste pipes have to stay? (I didn’t know if there was a way to route the middle one to the back, she says 😂). Would you consider integrated fridge and freezer as it will look much more streamlined? Where exactly are the windows as they too differ? Or does the 1st design not incorporate a dining table?

So, the builders are booked to carry out the open plan. Did the kitchen retailer rounds. Wren, Howdens, Sigma3, Avant Garde and AC distribution. Still to do the 3D designs, but thats all planned this week with all except Howdens. The Avant Garde are selling Symphony and Mobilturi. Heard bad reviews about Symphony units. Ac distribution are interesting as they make their own units in Wales. They appear reasonably made. Anybody use AC distribution or Avant Garde in Cardiff?

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! The Aga will be electric so putting it on the south wall is definitely an option! And like you say, with the extra light from the bifold doors, we could certainly have two smaller windows either side. I did try this on the DIY kitchen planner before, however it looked so dark but the plans that you have done make things look a lot brighter. I guess I depends on the software you are using. We had a large wine cooler planned for the island so this could certainly be replaced with a fridge. I have heard lots about Karen from Oneplan so this will probably be my next step now that I’m a little more clear on where things can fit! Thank you!

Personally I think the biggest improvement to this design would be blocking up one of the windows…. This would mean you could have all of your tall units together and then a large uninterrupted run of preparation space.

Separately I think the breakfast bar is unnecessary as it’s in an area that you will never use- you are going to do everything around the sink and hob
