Bedroom Decor Help!

Hi there, any suggestions would be hugely appreciated as a completely flumoxed and overwhelmed first time buyer! This is the bedroom in my new home. It has built-in sliding-door wardrobes (frosted glass with silver details) and a laminate medium-

wood wall - the wall up against which the bed will go. Currently the carpet is brown and walls are white. What would work if I kept the wood wall? Or should I aim to cover it up? Thank you so much in advance.

I have to confess I’ve not seen a wooden wall like that. Had it been timber such as Oak as opposed to a laminate (floor looking) finish then perhaps you could have made a feature of it. Personally l don’t like it. lt’s quite weird and dark.

I like the wood wall….. I think the issue is that there is too much contrast between the dark carpet and the white walls…. Personally I think you should paint the white walls a delicate light grey, or embrace the brown and choose a warm neutral

Hi Anna, I know it's a pain inheriting an outdated room but how exciting to make it your own! I think a scandi look would really energise and brighten this space too. Take a look at two rooms we have styled in this way. Our blinds fit perfectly in bay window areas allowing extra floor space and not blocking any heat from radiators. The blinds in the shoots are dim-out but if you have a north facing bedroom chances are it's cold so I suggest our Bloc Out blinds which not only provide total blackout for the bedroom but have been independently tested by The British Board of Agrément and are proven to reduce heat loss through the window by 43%. @daisy England - thanks for your reply. yes correct doors are walnut and bed is oak...but bed is to go! I would prefer a material large feature headboard just not sure what colour to compliment?? orange is a good contrast colour, thankyou hadn't thought of that. @HU-290967725 - thanks for the images does help to get different ideas. I love gold with the navy but the sofa has silver studs on so I think it wouldn't link...do you think? glad of any other help. TQ

Would you consider going towards a bluey green for your back wall? Think of a peacock,where blues & greens are so vibrant. Could be anything ranging from turquoise to teal to duckegg etc. It's such a big room, it could take some drama. The problem looking at it now is that the wall is so bland & deadens the green. Then you can add highlight colours with bed cushions & bedlinen. Have a couple of sets of cushion covers to change into every couple of months, to match the bedlinen. Or use all white bedding & change cushions d throws. IKEA does a small cushion with a turquoise cover, & you can buy other covers separately eg mustard, red. And have a look at Boogaloo Boutique. She up cycles furniture by covering it in wallpaper. Amazing stuff. You could get 2 matching chests of drawers from her. You might have to wait a bit for her to find 2 matching ones, or go for 2 similar ones, as they'll have same paper. I'd recommend the Bethan Gray paper in turquoise. It's divine.

Wooden walls seem to be a thing with some designers. I’m not so sure….you can either embrace it with modern styling or paint it. Found these examples on Pinterest .

A dark laminate accent wall has a modern urban feel together with the glass wardrobe sliding doors.

Minimalist modern furnirure would go well, if you want to embrace the look. I would change the carpet to a light flooring or lighter carpet, tbh.

Depending on what style you like, you could investigate painting the wall. There is a paint for laminate flooring on the market, you could explore.

You also can change the wardrobe doors, if you are looking for a softer quiter scheme.
