En suite renovation

Hello everyone. Our en suite is undergoing a renovation as the last in the series of bathroom renovations in our house.
I am interested in trying microcement for walls and floors of the en suite given its marketed advantages of low maintenance and impregnable nature.
What are the pros and cons ? Any experience with longevity and maintenance?
I am trying to go for a Mediterranean rustic look- are there any other materials that I should look at ( trying to minimise grout lines as quite tired with repeated leaks in this shower room).

How do they compare to microcement in finish and maintainence?

I have no experience of it, but found this very interesting article where they explain the advantages and disadvantages of using it.
