Comments (3)If you can't change the tile, change the plumber ... but seriously, have you had a second opinion? Maybe another plumber would get the job done. Otherwise, what about doing the floor in mother of pearl as well? Do you have a photo of the wetroom in its current state?...See MoreHallway flooring debate, what goes with red Spanish floor tiles?
Comments (2)A picture would really help! A large landscape mirror is a good bet in narrow hallways, as long as the frame is not obstructive. A dado rail will help break up the height (so giving the illusion of more width), and allows her to paint a bolder colour below the dado without making the space too dark (white or off white above the dado). Maybe even a picture rail too. She could use satin eggshell under the dado, it’s tougher and more easily cleaned than emulsion, and also has a sheen to reflect light. A large coir mat near the front door, spanning the full width of the hall, to help keep things clean and also reduce the visual length of the hall (to help it look wider)...See MoreLight slate floor in an extension - what colour furniture goes best.
Comments (3)It's hard to say without seeing it, but all neutral colours including greys belong to a 'hue'. For example, wood is generally yellow/orange, orange, or red/orange. Your tiles look to be a bit violet (some slate is blue/green). If they have a violet tinge and you have wood then that makes up two of three colours from a secondary triad - orange, violet and the third is green. It may be worth looking at green as an option as it tends to look good with wood and grey/violets. Almost everything in my house is based on this triad like this:...See MoreWhat goes with bottle blue tiles?
Comments (5)I wouldn’t have different coloured units, it wouldn’t unify the look at all. I would paint the units blue or off white, then that will give you more room to add a bright colour on the walls if you wish. You obviously like colour, so maybe go down the Spanish/Mexican route by adding yellow on the walls? Terracotta would go too on the walls but try to use a more pinky tone as some can be very brown and dull. You can either choose a soft lemon or a brighter yellow like F&B India Yellow. Yellow looks great with blue. As to the flooring, laminate is too wobbly for vinyl and it can make it crease or split over time. It does need a good sturdy base....See More- 3 months ago
