Hi Alecia. You could buy the latest in string lighting - White Lightbulbs! They're for in and outdoors and in multicoloured bulbs too. If you bought 3 or 4 you'd have a similar look for a fraction of the price. 'MY-NEWLIFE' on ebay UK has some, and for about £100 you can get 100 on a string from the US. Good Luck.

Hello kconboy, You're most welcome! Enjoy it.. Things don't need to be expensive to be lovely.. and it's all about what or what you don't put them with or next to.. Styling is instinctual.. It shouldn't take a long time.. I go into people's homes and re-arrange visually (mentally) within a matter of minutes.. You'll also know when you have put something in the right place.. Marble in the kitchen is lovely too... by the way there's a few lovely bowl like votives at French Connection home (Sale) that are nice.. .. Habitat do some lovely chopping boards.. Marble.. Oka is also good for cushions.. Do share how you're getting on too.. : ))

Hi there. I completely agree and with this comment and being finished in metal make them more obvious. I could recommend you swap them out for White ones like these Eiger Downlights and provided you have the lights above the table on its own circuit it would be very simple to swap the downlights for pendants as the cabling is likely to be the same. These small changes will make a big impact for sure ! Hope this helps but good luck with your project.

I would use Farrow and Ball slipper Satin looking at your room and the cupboard colours and the floor colour all round. Will give you warmth, will be more modern than what you have as has a grey in it (but a very warm grey, not strong at all, a creamy greeny light grey depending on time of day), and won’t be harsh like the 3 colours you chose, they are very very strong and you may regret it. I hate to be a spoilsport but everyone I know who wanted to be different and used a very dark wall or colour on a normal semi style house ended up regretting and repainting. Slipper satin will look just right in my opinion being both safe but dark enough. Unless you had windows on 2 sides I wouldn’t go dark anywhere. Also, keep the window areas whiter, not bright white (that has blue in it), just regular white. Just my humble opinion based on looking at hundreds of show homes (and still not being happy with any) lol...
