how to decorate bathroom?

We are redoing our small (2m by 2m) family bathroom. We’re having an 1800bath along the window wall, a shower to the left of the door with a new partition wall. We want tiles on the floor. We’ve been advised against tiling the bath panel - what’s a stylish alternative? I liked the idea of green zellinge tiles but not sure where and what other colours to use with them.. maybe a row of white zellinge tiles around the bath? And the basin will either be a small corner basin, or could use all the space between partition wall (not there yet) for a large basin / cupboard, but would that look crowded? All advice welcomed! 🙏

You won't have room for a bath and shower enclosure. This is with an 1800x800mm bath and a 900x900mm shower enclosure.

Green zellige tiles sound beautiful! To keep a 2m x 2m room from feeling like a cave, I’d use the green tiles on just one feature area (like the shower enclosure) and use a clean white everywhere else. For the bath panel, painted tongue-and-groove looks amazing with zellige and is super practical for maintenance."

Just A couple of thoughts: If your shower tray was 1000x700 you would likely have enough space on the opposite side of the room to put the loo between the bath and shower. In turn this would leave more room for a bigger vanity and therefore more storage. Personally I would choose a metro tile with a dark grout and steel trims for the edges. Alternatively you could find a tile you like in more than one size. Use a smaller tile for decorative effect- perhaps you have a mosaic in a stripe up the wall?

I've been thinking about options to cover all basis and came up with this. To allow guests to use a bath/shower the ensuite would be shared. I added a wall in the master bedroom to divide it and add privacy so guests don't have to walk into the bedroom to get to the bath/shower. The upsides are that the ensuite is larger, includes a bath and shower and has more vanity room. Also, by diving the bedroom I can add sort of a walk-in wardrobe. The downsides are that there's only one bath/shower that has to be shared and guests have to walk through the walk-in wardrobe to get to it. Also, it reduces the size of the master bedroom but it's quite a long room anyway and it would cut out the light from the windows in the bedroom. Personally I don't see these as big problems but I guess some people won't like it. Do you think this is a good idea?

We have a very small downstairs cloakroom and we've tiled half way up the wall all round in very large porcelain tiles in a pale cream and then painted the rest a very deep, blood red. So I think you could be a bit adventurous with paint and if you don't like it, you can always repaint. You have the benefit of a window, so it's not a pokey dark room. You could push the boat out and look at stunning wallpaper, like the Koi paper by Osborne and Little. I think a little loo is just the place to go bold. You could have shelves across the back in place of the cupboard, but in my experience, the towels and loo roll, make a lot of fluff in such a confined space and I think you'd be forever dusting or wiping the down.
