Aberdeen House Project
This large house restoration needed three individual and really quite substantial fireplaces for the main rooms. A diferent stones was selected for each design. A Burgundian limestone, a fine white marble and a sandstone were all chosen to make the fireplaces from as although all totally different materials they all share the same quality of having enough natural markings to bring interest to the stone, but not so many markings as to conflict with the detailed carving work and design. All the fireplaces featured a shield, flanked by winged griffins, showing the initials of the house and the date of the renovation underneath.
