FORMstudio's duplex penthouse apartment with spectacular views over the River Thames near Tower Bridge is now completed. The original developer fit-out had carved the space up into a series of small rooms. These have been removed to create a dramatic, light-filled living space on the upper floor, whilst subtle changes in level, built-in joinery and seating delineate different sub-areas (study, dining, kitchen and sitting) giving them a more intimate feel.

A bespoke 5m long stainless steel hood hovers over the kitchen island unit, incorporating lighting and extraction. In the master bedroom a leather panelled bedhead wall contains wardrobes to the walk-in dressing area behind.

A fire engineered solution to means of escape was adopted with doors on electromagnetic holds concealed in the wall linings, allowing the lower level to be opened up to provide light and river views, avoiding a dark, enclosed entrance corridor. This has created a sequence of calm and coherent interior volumes.
