BRIGHTON - Coach House
Ground floor refurbishment of an 18th Century Coach house in Brighton’s South Lanes. This job evolved & developed just as we had hoped from the initial consultation with the clients. There was a lot of scope here, beautiful original features, internal cobbled walls & amazing oak beams. However, the space was not maximising its potential, it was dark, damp & was certainly not the beating heart of the home. We discussed initial kitchen designs and gained a thorough understanding of what the clients required & how they use the kitchen currently. Form + Function always at the top of our agenda at SQ1 Workshop. It became clear that the owners were fully engaged in redeveloping the entire space….
The predominant feature of the kitchen was the Corian faced handless doors & drawers. The Corian took on a monolithic quality, heavy & grounded juxtaposed against the newly sand blasted cobble stone & rustic oak beams. Solid oak & granite further engaged the old with the new. Heated lime stone floor & a complimentary new lighting system completed the transformation.
“We are absolutely thrilled with our new kitchen which got transformed into a communicative space that everyone loves to be in. Mark of SQ1 worked relentlessly with us to ensure our requirements were met during the design as well as during the actual installation. We really appreciated the high attention to detail and the desire to achieve a perfect layout for our needs.
We would highly recommend Mark and the SQ1 Workshop team - great job!”
