Camden Mews Courtyard

This mews front garden had a tricky brief of combining a welcoming seating area as well as a potential car parking space. The Magnolia tree sits within the wide hardwood floating bench creating shade and interest. As it grows it will form a beautiful canopy framing the seating area. The large leaves echo the design on the corten steel panels, the abstract leaf design catches the light accentuating the texture. It takes about 2 months for the panels to achieve the orange patina which will compliment the copper toned planting. The striped porcelain paving complement the contemporary linear architecture of the building and help to widen the width of the garden. The bins are concealed behind the far corten panel which also has lights behind which glow in the evening giving the illusion of added depth. The light filters through forming dappled pools of light giving a magical evening ambiance. The free standing planters are made to measure from Geo fibreglass for a seamless finish. One of them is on the casters and can be pulled out to access the bins. I am now really looking forward to seeing this garden fully planted and mature over the next couple of years.
