This small one bedroom Victorian maisonette in Balham needed updating but without overloading the space as the client wanted a cool, calm look that complemented her existing kitchen. The colour palette was very neutral, but with deeper tones of taupe, grey and french blue to give it bite. Plenty of wood, both in the flooring and furniture added to the feeling of a classic contemporary interior that could be dressed to look Scandanavian, industrial or a pared back retro if so wished.
