Soft Industrial Design Ealing

An electric mix of wools, felts, animal skins and gilt liven up this North facing house to leave a wry smile and a warm fuzzy glow to any visitor popping in.

This room is north facing so I used a lot of warm surfaced fabrics such as wool, felt, wicker and fur throws as well as a warm toned grey to offset the cool feel of the space.

The gilt framed mirror is a real favourite of mine as it's size and style lends itself to many different looks. Here it is giving a bit of warmth and glamour to a pared back look and brings out the ochre colour in the tiles.

The fabric version of Voissey's Squirrels and Doves appears in the sitting room, along with pure wool plaid cushions to soften and warm the old leather sofa. We decided to keep the client's existing cane weave lamps which add to the rustic charm.

The hallway was dark and the flooring felt a little institutional. Adding the soft turquoise blue brought out the warmth in the wood colour and flooring and the addition of natural coire flooring up the stairs gave texture to soften the feel of the space.

As space was tight the sink was kept quite plain and wall hung to increase the feeling of space. A floor to ceiling wall unit was built round the boiler which gave the client space to put all her bathroom accessories out of the way and keep the space clutter free.

The master bedroom features a Sanderson Doves and Squirrels Voissey wallpaper combined with great wool fabrics from Abraham Moon. The spots, checks, animals and distressed furniture are held together by the colour palette and the client's sense of fun in her interior.

The box room is kept fairly calm but with a warm tone added through the heather coloured walls and the calming stripe on the roman blinds. A plain empire lamp with wooden stand and the distressed chest of drawers give a pared down style that is a little bit French rural with a touch of chic.
