Contemporary Primary Bedroom in Stony Stratford

Luxury Victorian Bedroom and Walk-In Wardrobe Design Project | Buckinghamshire & Northamptonshire

This luxury bedroom interior design project transformed the front bedroom of a traditional Victorian terrace house into a bright, multifunctional and beautifully considered retreat. Located in Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, the brief was to create a sophisticated space that combined the character of the property's period architecture with the practicality required for modern living.

The client wanted more than just a bedroom. They envisioned a luxurious personal sanctuary that would provide space to rest, work and prepare for the day, whilst maximising natural light and incorporating generous storage solutions. Through thoughtful interior design, strategic spatial planning and bespoke furniture selections, we transformed the room into a highly functional and elegant space tailored to their lifestyle.

The project began with the creation of detailed moodboards, establishing a refined design direction that respected the Victorian character of the home whilst introducing a fresh and contemporary aesthetic. A soft, light-enhancing palette was selected to maximise the sense of space and brightness, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the room.

Careful spatial planning was fundamental to the success of the project. The layout was reimagined to create clearly defined zones for sleeping, working and dressing without compromising the room's flow or architectural features. Particular attention was given to preserving the generous proportions typical of Victorian properties while improving functionality for modern-day living.

Realistic 3D renders were developed to help visualise the proposed design, allowing every detail to be refined before implementation. Material and finish sampling ensured a cohesive scheme, with carefully selected textures, furnishings and finishes contributing to the room's luxurious yet understated feel.

One of the standout features of the project was the incorporation of bespoke walk-in wardrobe storage, designed to maximise organisation while maintaining a seamless and elegant appearance. The dressing area was thoughtfully integrated into the overall design, providing ample storage for clothing, accessories and personal items without overwhelming the space.

To support flexible living, a dedicated work area was incorporated into the design, creating a practical and comfortable home working environment. This carefully planned workspace complements the overall aesthetic of the room whilst offering functionality for remote working and everyday tasks.

Our FF&E selection and procurement service included sourcing furniture, lighting, window treatments, decorative accessories and bespoke storage solutions. Every item was selected to enhance the room's sense of comfort, sophistication and practicality while reflecting the client's personal style.

The final styling and installation completed the transformation, creating a luxurious bedroom that feels bright, spacious and effortlessly elegant. The finished design successfully balances period charm with contemporary living, providing a beautiful retreat that accommodates relaxation, productivity and everyday organisation.
