Garage Conversion & Renovation London | Hither Green
K Space was invited to shake things up a little in this quotidian 1930s home and we took that brief and ran with it – out went an underused garage, replaced with a playful, informal gentlemen’s club-meets-industrial-games room. We riffed on the prior use of the space by using utilitarian materials, including chipboard to create a ‘lidded’ ceiling, exposed filament light fittings, polished cement flooring and painted breezeblock walls, complemented by a simple bar area made from raw wood shelving. We also reworked the first-floor bathroom, borrowing space from the landing and cloakroom to create a separate shower and bathing area, finished in terrazzo, with monochrome tapware for a graphic touch.
