Grey Shadows_ Contemporary Period House refurbishment and Interiors

A dated Victorian terraced house in London was revitalized with a contemporary touch, focusing on the living room, kitchen side return, entrance, master bedroom, and guest room. The client’s preferred grey palette, accented with white and pale pink, set the tone for the design.

In the living room, bespoke shelves and period features blend seamlessly, while Tadelakt, a reclaimed wooden bookcase, and a contemporary fireplace provide striking accents. Light floods in from the adjacent kitchen and side extension’s skylight.

The Victorian staircase was reimagined with engineered wood, replacing spindles and creating a sleek, solid ascent. A gentle curve at the newel invites you upwards.

The guest room, designed as a flexible space, features a platform concealing a pull-out bed, with storage, bookcases, and a guest wardrobe on one side. A dark colour palette of black-tinted MDF with bronze inlays, along with a slatted screen, creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere perfect for reading, meditation, or socialising.
