Heron Crag

Heron Crag is situated near the boundary of the Peak Park. The house is approached from a drive which running through the attractive wood alongside a brook, past the garden to arrive at the property. The site is well screened from the road by mature vegetation and the natural slope of the land.
The new house, which is similar in style to the original, was repositioned to take advantage of the levels and views in order to create a succession of terraces, walled gardens and lawns that lead to the woodland beyond. The successful integration of the house and landscaping designs has created ‘living rooms’, which flow from inside to outside.

The new construction enabled the integration of new technologies and achieved a high level of thermal performance and renewable energy. The scope of works also included the installation of a ground source heat pump, with boreholes which are also used to provide water to the house.
