Lumiere a la Mer
Previously on this site existed an unattractive 1950s flat-roofed bungalow, which although on a site with wonderful distant views towards Herm, did not take full advantage of the location or the vistas.
Our Clients commissioned us to replace the dwelling in a contemporary style. The planning restraints on the site were likely to exclude a two-storey replacement, and a decision was therefore made to design a single-storey flat-roofed building, reflecting the very flat and open nature of the site, yet taking advantage of the views. The central hallway however incorporates a glass atrium which allows sufficient height for a viewing platform/sitting area at the upper level.
