It’s not every day that you get to build a home from the ground up, this project was completely with Baufritz - a German house build company. We took the project from plans through to completion which included a 5 days sourcing trip to Baufritz’s factory in Germany.

This marvellous house was created for a family of four, and needed to respond to everyone’s needs. With one formal living room, a family room, media room, a minimalistic kitchen and a pink bedroom, the design fully responded to the challenge making each space unique whilst still keeping the flow of the property in tact . The two-island kitchen is a great place to spend time with family and materials are beautiful but easy to maintain, creating a contemporary look. The grey and silver lounge with modern coffee tables and a stunning floor lamp is the perfect place to relax and invite guests. This space flows into the dining room, where the unusually tall ceiling allowed for this stunning, iconic chandelier, it illuminates both floors at the same time.

Having an opportunity to work on this brief while the house was in construction opened a few opportunities to transform the internal layout bringing more functional solutions and brighter spaces to the house. A combination of warm, dark wood with silk and modern chrome finishes created a very contemporary yet cozy home.
