Victorian Home Renovation & Interior Design – Brixton
This Victorian terrace in the heart of Brixton required extensive renovation. Many of the original features had been removed over the decades, leaving the spaces cold and lacking character. An outdated kitchen extension at the rear also needed a complete redesign.
We reintroduced key architectural features such as ornate ceiling roses, Victorian-style skirting, and exposed original floorboards, bringing the soul of this house back to life.
By demolishing and redesigning the rear kitchen extension, we transformed the space into a light, warm, and cosy environment. Clever design and use of space created a large dining area with full-height bi-folding doors opening onto the terrace and garden, providing a perfect summer connection to the outdoors. The loft was converted to add two extra bedrooms and an ensuite shower room.
In the kitchen, dark wood cabinetry, a beautiful marble worktop, and light grey concrete flooring combine to create a soft, natural atmosphere. The living room mixes vintage pieces with Pinch furniture for a relaxed, classic scheme. A soft, yet dark, colour palette in the hallway and stairs provides immediate comfort upon entering. Upstairs, bedrooms and bathrooms continue the calm, offering a peaceful sanctuary.
