Victorian House and Garden
Originally two modest farm labourer’s cottages, the house was been knocked into one with extensions in every direction. The resultant warren of disconnected spaces had two large north facing conservatories latched on, that separated the living room and kitchen from the garden.
By inserting a wing, north facing rooms were given a westerly aspect and flooded with sunlight in the afternoon. Conservatories were removed so that there is a direct connection between the living spaces and the outside. At the core of the house is the kitchen which now has magnificent views of the landscaped patios, terraces and lawns beyond. Upstairs a new master-bathroom has been designed with a domed roof light making it feel as though you are bathing in the open air.
The house has been fully insulated with external insulation to the walls, under floor and loft insulation and has new triple glazed windows.
The house has a new lease of life filled with sun, light and air with magnificent views of the countryside and very low heating bills.
