Wahroonga
The Garden House in Wahroonga was conceived in close conjunction between the owners, architect and specialist Feng Shui consultant. Whilst the house was not subject to heritage listing it was decided not to extend the existing footprint of the dwelling and to contain all new works to the existing building fabric and to reinstate some of the original features such as the veranda off the living area.
A high degree of crafting was called for from all trades, with each item of work, whether it is the lining boards to the studio the terracotta tiles to the roof had to be completed as almost separate items involving a layering and completion of a multiplicity of detail.
This project was selected as a joint winner of the 2013 NSW Master Builders Excellence Awards
