The clients a couple who were both professional chefs with two small children had spent years searching for the perfect house. After not being able to find it they approached us to help change their existing ugly house into their beautiful dream home which included an external makeover, internal reconfiguration of existing layouts and a new double storey side extensions. Being two chefs who both worked from home, the kitchen was their first priority as was contemporary open plan family living spaces. I gave them large and bright hallways/landing big enough to store their endless book collection and a sofa. allowing the usual transition space to be used as social space as well. Externally, the pebble dashed was removed and was replaced with white render, dark grey aluminum windows and the traditional concrete canopy was replaced with one which was metal clad, cantilevered with a single oak post.
