This could work (maybe two). Is it tall enough to hold records? How does it open?
See how the bottom shelf follows the contour of the wall? What if we put a shelf like that on the wall where the TV is currently mounted? First - open up the existing recess in the wall (it goes to the ceiling). Then add a shelf that runs the full length of the wall. It could stick out from the wall about 15 inches AND recess BACK into the existing recess (like in this picture). The speakers could sit on the protruding part of the shelf and the components could be stacked inside the recess opening. Top it off with a retractable screen that would come down from the ceiling (or UP front under the shelf?)
Floating shelf like this?
Like the floating shelves. One long floating shelf L(like these) to support the speakers? Above the sub opening, but below the equipment door?
Recessing speakers
Good in a couple of ways: wood shelving with white background is a good contrast. Also - the dual cut out design in the same wall (one for the tv & shelves, the other for the fireplace)may work for us - especially when it comes to placing the subwoofer
Really nice wood detailing
Like the bookshelf behind the couch
Nice mid century look
Tv on wood background
Same as previous. Just a different execution.
Simplest idea - move the TV mounting surface as far back as possible, then build out a cabinet beneath it to the original depth of the wall. Speakers (& turntable?) sit on cabinet top. Components go inside.
Instead of extending out, keep the center in the same place and cut the wall back on the left and right sides
This. Just make it floating (no legs). 60 inches wide, and all cabinets (no drawers). I'll take two. Seems like we should be able to get this made. Especially if we used white panels and walnut veneer doors.
