Contemporary Kitchen, Surrey

Working with our clients was a pleasure. When we first met at the Oxted Beer Festival several years ago, they were considering an extension but weren’t sure exactly how far to extend, nor how to best use the new space. The existing kitchen worked well as a space to cook in but was disjointed from both the dining table and play area in the family room. They wanted a more sociable space to cook and entertain in and where they could see the children play. In addition, they hoped to gain a utility space and possibly a separate playroom, by converting the rear of the existing garage into habitable space. We looked at several different options of plan layout, and are delighted the finished project works so well for the family. The existing kitchen has been re-purposed by simply adding a new deep worktop to create the breakfast bar area (and to tuck stools under) while the skylight in the utility provides natural light. Alongside Feasibility Plans, we were successful in gaining Planning Permission, while Rosie and Giles project managed the build themselves on site.
