Inspiration for a contemporary kitchen in Singapore.

Contemporary Kitchen, Singapore

During the renovation, the architect knocked down a few walls between the kitchen and living area to create a large open-plan space that has a raw, NYC loft-like character. The simple alteration has had a significant impact in improving the usability of the space, connecting the kitchen, dining and living areas to create one extended and continuous envelope that the family can inhabit. Greenery is brought indoors in abundant and diverse measures – directly through indoor plants and windows that are at eye level with trees, and indirectly through subtle wood textures, warm earth tones and exquisite natural fabrics. A Saur wood dining table adds a rustic touch, bridging the historic and the contemporary. A statement rice paper chandelier hangs elegantly above this robust live edge table.
