Ice pool dining table

Contemporary Dining Room, Calgary

I used a one inch glass with cut and sanded edge. Then had the circumference frosted to give the illusion of a pond thawing in the spring. You look into the pond and see a 45 cm Cedar stump that supports the entire table. We situated the table in a special 5 window alcove with an eastern exposure. When the morning sun hits the cut edge the light travels through the frosting creating mini "Northern Lights".
