Mediterranean Villa and Mexican Colonial Casita in La Jolla
Rustic Living Room, San Diego
This was the 1906 guest cottage that the owners wanted remodeled to look like a Mexican Colonial casita. The old linoleum and carpet was ripped out and the original hardwood floors stripped and refinished. Walls were knocked down to enlarge the remaining rooms, and the small courtyard and fountain added to make it an authentic San Miguel do Allende style casita. In the back of the casita is the maid's quarters. The furnishings for all of the casita were brought in from Mexico to authenticate the look.
