Traditional House Exterior

We always love to get involved with the renovation of older properties. When replacing old features with new, we feel a real sense of duty to preserve the characteristics of the property itself and share our expertise and guidance to help our customers create their dream home. The homeowners had a lot on their plates when investing in this property. With a rotting timber porch, leaking roof, old single glazed timber windows, rotting doors… the list goes on and on. When our lovely clients approached us they had very specific requirements and had a clear vision for their home aesthetically, however required our guidance and expert advice in order to make their home dry, safe, secure and warm. Our clients opted for black woodgrain effect PVC windows with double glazing, to compliment the external red brick, yet adding a modern touch to the 100yr old property. Thermal efficiency was important to our clients, as it is a large home to heat, and with our guidance, they chose UPVC profiles due to them being the most energy-efficient on the market. With a rotting timber porch and a baby due for arrival, the porch became a priority, in order to make the home secure, dry and warm. The clients had a great vision as to what they wanted and decided to have a large, modern, black, aluminum curtain walling to contrast against the original property. The outcome is a real spectacle! This feature completely transforms the home and most definitely stops passers-by. Not only does the porch act as an entranceway to the home, but on the first floor acts as part of a bedroom. In order to make the room as warm as possible during winter, due to all of the glass, yet cool in summer we supplied anti-sun glass and triple glazing. The anti-sun tint also provides more privacy! The porch also features one of our solid style composite doors, with a long modern handle, really complimenting the porch. This has been one heck of a project, but my goodness, one heck of a transformation and this is one project we are more than proud to have been involved in! https://jadewindows.co.uk/case_studies/out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new/
