Modern Dining Room, Charlotte

Photo credit Dustin Peck. Dining space is located in open room that also includes living and kitchen, and leads to mudroom (through custom-built sliding barn door) and home office (through 8' 6-panel doors to the right). Black modern farmhouse table technically seats 8, but end chairs have been omitted to keep lines cleaner. Six robins-egg blue chairs also feature "x" seen on sides of table and barn door, paying hommage to dutch colonial "barn style" of house while keeping modern clean lines and staying casual. Oil barn painting by Kim Painter and was created specifically for this space. Light fixture from West Elm. Hardwood floors are wide-plank and stained 3 times to create absolute black. White walls show off the art and constrast of the black floors and gray doors.
