Reclaimed Scaffolding Boards and Steel Pipe Shelving/Bookcase - Its salvaged vintage industrial design works perfectly in a sophisticated, casual living space.
This shelving system can be made to measure to your own specifications. The shelves pictured here are 5 ft wide and 6.5ft tall... but the sky's the limit... these shelves can be made with double the number of steel pipe risers so it can be freestanding... the piping can be painted.... scaffolding boards could be substituted for reclaimed floor boards, chunky reclaimed timber of any type, toughened glass, sheet metal, wire grills, railway sleepers... whatever you would like... I can source anything and gladly will !
The scaffolding boards pictured in this example were simply brushed down so they retained a gritty raw look, but anything you choose to use can be distressed or polished up to create any required finish.
Please contact me to discuss any ideas or obtain quotes.
All systems will come with detailed installation and build instructions... they are amazingly easy to put together and install... you just need a regular DIYer drill and suitable fixings for the wall they are to be mounted on... or neither of these if you choose a freestanding option... it's just a case of screwing components together in the right order.

Reclaimed Scaffolding Boards and Galvanised Steel Pipe Long Low Bench or Console Table - Its salvaged vintage industrial design works perfectly in a sophisticated, casual living space.
This TV Bench / Console Long Low Table / Display Table can be made to measure to your own specifications. The one pictured here is 214cm wide x 38cm tall x 44cm deep... but the sky's the limit... these shelves can be made with double the number of steel pipe risers so it can be freestanding... the piping can be painted.... scaffolding boards could be substituted for reclaimed floor boards, chunky reclaimed timber of any type, toughened glass, sheet metal, wire grills, railway sleepers... whatever you would like... I can source anything and gladly will !
The scaffolding boards pictured in this example were simply brushed down so they retained a gritty raw look, but anything you choose to use can be distressed or polished up to create any required finish. I can also produce this, or anything similar using new scaffolding board, railway sleepers, plywood, reclaimed floorboards, reclaimed steel, ungalvanised pipe... the sky's the limit really... I am a designer maker, so can turn my hand to pretty much anything... I do not sell any of my products on behalf of anyone else... I thrive on being challenged !
Whenever I get the reclaimed scaffolding board it's rarely exactly the same length... it's generally been doctored over the years of use, but I can of course cut it to any required length and age the freshly exposed wood so it matches the rest of the finish... when I created this long low display table, however, I liked the slight difference in lengths and left them as they were... you can specify any little detail like this you would like left or removed and I can supply it to your exact specifications... I will communicate with you throughout the development of the project as I source the components you might require....
Please contact me to discuss any ideas or obtain quotes.
Any variation you require can come assembled or flat packed with detailed installation and build instructions... they are amazingly easy to put together.

Saul Industrial Reclaimed Scaffold Board and Dark Steel Pipe Shelving Unit with roll out drawers on castors
Gorgeous and functional shelving/storage system commissioned by a client who was looking for a practical yet stylish multi media solution. Lots of convenient shelving and also including two very useful drawers creating great storage, each on casters for ease of use. The dark steel fittings blend perfectly with the walnut wash finish.
Gate valves and gas levers were included in the design to provide some fun and whimsy, but as with most of our listings everything we make is bespoke, so just let us know if you would prefer not to have these extras in your unit.
This storage/shelving system can be made to suit your specifications. Anything you choose to use can be distressed or polished up to create any required finish.
The dimensions of Saul as pictured here is h:2150mm x w:1650mm x d:430mm ....but we can make it to any size to fit your space perfectly!
Everything we do is made to order and because we design and make everything ourselves we can easily accommodate any design requirements you might have... just contact us for a chat (0161 336 0524)... pretty much all of our listings are a result of other client's requests so prices are indicative of a bespoke product - the price won't dramatically increase because you want to add a few centimetres here or take a few centimetres away there - obviously if you wanted something 10x the size the cost of materials would increase and add a little to the final price but that would be the only cost implication - I'm not importing and selling hundreds of products of a particular size... we make everything ourselves from raw materials in our own workshop here in Manchester...
... We just love what we do and love to provide a great bespoke service... why buy off the shelf when there's just no need to... we can create something totally unique for you !

The gorgeous clear varnish finish of the wood compliments the dark steel fittings beautifully.

We introduced a new Kitchen to a 100 year old farmhouse in northern New Jersey. The family uses the Kitchen a lot, so it was important to introduce large work surfaces, and a variety of spaces. Most important is the introduction of an oversized work island with a sink, wine refrigerator, and built-in walnut cutting board. the cutting board has a slot for bread crumbs that lead to a small drawer with a removable tray for disposing the crumbs. The simple flat panel cabinets and modern light fixtures help integrate the updated Kitchen into a traditional farmhouse structure.

This detached Victorian house was extended to accommodate the needs of a young family with three small children.
The programme was organized into two distinctive structures: the larger and higher volume is placed at the back of the house to face the garden and make the best use of the south orientation and to accommodate a large Family Room open to the new Kitchen. A longer and thinner volume, only 1.15m wide, stands to the western side of the house and accommodates a Toilet, a Utility and a dining booth facing the Family Room. All the functions that are housed in the secondary volume have direct access either from the original house or the rear extension, thus generating a hierarchy of served and servant volumes, a relationship that is homogeneous to that between the house and the extension.
The timber structures, while distinctive in their proportions, are connected by a shallow volume that doubles as a bench to create an architectural continuum and to emphasize the effect of a secondary volume wrapped around a primary one.
While the extension makes use of a modern idiom, so that it is clearly distinguished from the original house and so that the history of its development becomes immediately apparent, the size of the red cedar cladding boards, left untreated to allow a natural silvering process, matches that of the Victorian brickwork to bind house and extension together.
As the budget did not make possible the use a bespoke profile, an off-the-shelf board was selected and further grooved at mid point to recreate the brick pattern of the façade.
A tall and slender pivoting door, positioned at the boundary between the original house and the new intervention, allows a direct view of the garden from the front of the house and facilitates an innovative relationship with the outside.

We basically squeezed this into a closet, but wow does it deliver! The roll out shelf can expand for folding and ironing and push back in when it's not needed. The wood shelves offer great linen storage and the exposed brick is a great reminder of all the hard work that has been done in this home!
